RECOAT

Resilient Communities Africa Trust

Building resilient communities in Malawi, Africa, and beyond

RECOAT works alongside disadvantaged communities on disaster response, health, WASH, food security, and early childhood development — complementing government and civil society efforts to build resilience where it's needed most.

Who we are

A Malawian-led organization committed to resilience

Resilient Communities Africa Trust (RECOAT) is a civil society organization concerned with the social, economic, and development wellbeing of the people of Malawi — with specific technical focus on disaster risk reduction, food security, WASH, climate change adaptation, gender, child protection, and quality and accountability standards.

RECOAT exists to enhance the resilience of disadvantaged communities — men, women, and youth — at all levels, targeting women and children as among the key vulnerable populations it serves. Registered in Malawi since 2016, RECOAT is a member of the Council for Non-Governmental Organisations in Malawi (CONGOMA) and is registered with the NGO Board of Malawi.
